 City Rangers continue to rebuild

City Rangers continue to rebuild

18/05/2008 8:12:00 AM
The Grand Central Hotel-sponsored soccer club Lithgow City Rangers continued to improve their form when they came up against the skilled team of Macquarie United.

Midway through the first half, Rangers made a defensive error and the opposition capitalised to break the deadlock at 1-0.

Changes were then made to Rangers line up who then started to rebuild through the midfield with Andrew Nugent, Clinton Curran and Robert Calcott controlling the play.

Forwards Damon Gill, Connor Favell and Joshua Jones built on the good work from the midfield which resulted in Daniel McCreanor scoring just before half time.

The second half saw the defence of Andrew McIntosh, Will and David Gausden step up and keep the opposition scoreless.

Unfortunately the attacking advances made by Rangers didn’t turn into goals so the final score finished at 1-all.

The players’ commitment has been outstanding since dropping a team out of the first grade competition with Rangers having played four games, winning one and drawing three.

With numbers now up at training, including the Rangers’ Ladies, it will help to improve the overall team performance

Thanks again to the Grand Central Hotel for their continual support.
