Smaller numbers turned out for round three of the CTMBC Winter series (sponsored by Angus Place Colliery and Springvale Coal) on Sunday, mainly due to a clash with Mothers Day.

But Mothers Day didn't stop mum of two Darlene Cheney taking it to the blokes to come third over all in a time of 57min 48 seconds.

Out in front of men’s A grade Andrew Poppett took the win in 53.13, four minutes clear of Insane Cycles Craig Flynn (57:18) while Mark Hammonds took the official third place (58:48).

Cheney stomped home in the women’s over Kelly Hammonds who took up her old habit of falling off yet still posted a respectable time of 1 hour 7minutes 45 seconds to join husband, Mark on the podium.

Geoff Merrick had it all his own way in B grade completing the four laps in 56 minutes 11seconds.

The Down Hill race came after lunch and with Matt Walker missing Brett Blackman had it all to himself taking the win with a fastest time of 57.28 seconds over James Smail (58.69) with Mt Vic’s Will Pass getting his fist podium finish in third (1:00.40) just 0.7 seconds in front of Todd Brownlow.

Emma Tatum proved Down Hill wasn't all about boys and their toys and posted a time of 1 hour 29.13 seconds.

Liam Westman, son of Winning Edge Cycles owner Greg Westen, took out under 13 in a time of 1 hour 44.9 seconds.

In the under 15 it was hotly contested affair with Dan Bender having the best combined time but Liam Dailey edging him for the fastest individual run of 1:02.28.

This relegated Bender to second (1:02.36) with Lyndon Nugent in third.
