Lithgow Workmens Club head off to Orange tomorrow to take on CYMS who have been the big Group 10 rugby league improvers this year with the Wolves keen to continue their recent good form.
After a patchy month due to injuries, the Wolves are starting to hit the form that has seen them contest the last three Group 10 grand finals – winning one out of three.
They are gradually starting to get stronger, especially with the signing of five eighth Blake Tremain-Cannon who has been a revelation in the last two matches since making his debut.
The Wolves are sitting in fourth spot on 16 points, but now have their sights set on a top three finish with Mudgee and CYMS ahead on 20 and St Pats on 22.
A win over CYMS would go a long way in their quest.
The other important match tomorrow for the Wolves is the under 18 match who are one point out of the five on 13.
Panthers and Mudgee are one point ahead on 14, CYMS are on 15 in third spot with Cowra 20 on first and Hawks 17 in second place.
The young Wolves have some tough matches coming up starting with CYMS and they are then at home to the competition leaders Cowra.
They have shown that they can match it with the best teams in the competition if they maintain their concentration and coach Graeme Osborne has been working hard on this aspect of their play.
Their second half effort against Bathurst Panthers last week was outstanding and Osborne will be looking for a similar display.
