Some high profile speakers will be taking part in the Lithgow Jobs Summit at the Workmens Club on Tuesday.
Lithgow Council in conjunction with Member for Macquarie Bob Debus and State Member Gerard Martin will host the day long summit which will seek ideas on how to promote the Lithgow district economy through jobs creation.
Jobs creation was seen as the community’s number one need at previous forums, including public input in the lead up to last year’s Federal Election.
Community representatives have been invited to take part and to provide input to the forum.
The chief executive of the Western Research Institute at Charles Sturt University, Tom Murphy, will be the facilitator and outline Lithgow’s economic profile.
Keynote speakers from 11 am will be Federal Member Bob Debus and the Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Development, Gary Gray.
This will be followed by group discussions which will identify key issues for input at the afternoon workshop sessions.
The summit is scheduled to conclude around 3 pm with a determination on future courses of action.
